Legend: Bambi Jones
Posting all of these beautiful legends all year has really got us here at Red Hots Burlesque excited for Burlesque Hall of Fame! Meeting this broad made our weekend in 2012!
BAMBI JONES
A dame with many names, Bambi Jones has been bumped and grinded under monikers like Joi Naymith, the Mona Lisa Girl and even Evangeline the Oyster Girl. Jones started dancing burlesque in the 1950s, having admired movie stars of the 1940s who eventually inspired her to become an entertainer herself. She has performed all over Canada, the United States and Mexico, including the famous 500 Club on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Her daughter Grace Morley made a career for herself in Las Vegas as a burlesque performer, nodding to her mother with her chosen name Bambi Jr. These days the classy and rather brassy burlesque legend Bambi Jones can still be seen performing: last year she dazzled at the annual Titans of Tease for the Burlesque Hall of Fame with a rather risque handsy number. She also still performs well into her ’80s at local senior centers.
