About our Feature: SEE HER EVERY WEEK IN APRIL! Born and raised in the Bay Area, Elyse Elaine has jumped into the burlesque scene with both feet. She enjoys being able to express herself in this art form and portray an alter ego that she feels has been trapped inside her. Elyse has been dancing since childhood and has dabbled into all the forms. She eventually found her home in 2007 with SideShowCrew (a hiphop/pop dance team based in Vallejo, Ca.). SideShowCrew performed all over San Francisco with an emphasis in the Castro. Wanting to explore her own body and sexuality Elyse started showing an interest in burlesque and began searching for a group where she could flourish. By chance she met and became friends with Sgt. Die Wies and Dorian Faust of Livid Cult Burlesque Theatre and it has been history ever since. Elyse’s current venture in the burlesque scene is WOMANOPOLY, a burlesque variety show her and her co producer Sgt. Die Wies created together! They currently have 2 home locations in Oakland and Vallejo and are working on more! Elyse hopes that her performances speak for themselves and that every audience member walks away smiling.
