NATIONAL TREASURE: Porcelain

There’s a ton of ladies who we lust after all across the nation, but none of them quite hit all of our sweet (tea) spots like North Carolina’s Porcelain. She has the sizzle of a jazz song, with a body that jiggles and bumps to every improvisation, oozing sex appeal on stages all over the country. Based on the East Coast, Porcelain is a model who works in fashion, fetish, glamor and alternative as well as being a burlesque performer. Porcelain dips into a classic aesthetic, pulling inspiration from the 1920s to 40s. In a recent interview with a modeling magazine Porcelain cited why she prefers the burlesque stage: “I love modeling, but I prefer performance because you really get to take on a character with every movement that you make. I almost feel like I’m a better performer than I am a model.” We enjoyed her show-stopping classic burlesque performance in October at Red Hots Burlesque, and more than that we love her blend of graciousness and biting wit — a sure remnant from her earlier goth days — on Tumblr. When asked by an anonymous fan for her tips on body confidence, Porcelain advised, “You need to KNOW how incredible and sexy you are. Fuck the media. Fuck the general consensus. Feel bad for the people that live their life trying too god damn hard, or are too miserable and negative to see straight. You don’t need to prove anything to anyone. Its what makes YOU happy. It’s what makes YOU feel good. Take it from someone that fought an uphill battle, on the quest to love herself.”

WHAT TO SEE IN NORTH CAROLINA: “For great beer and delicious food, I would absolutely suggest Raleigh Times. Their pork nachos are known throughout the land. I also love their veggie burgers. Best BBQ is either The Pit or Clyde Coopers. Best veggie/gluten free/dairy free options are Fiction Kitchen and Remedy Diner. Last, but certainly not least, we have some of the best fast food options… ever; Cook Out, Bojangles, and Snoopy’s to name a few! I could really go on and on. Beer, wine, food, lingerie, and glitter pretty much define my life.”
