We love a gal with a sense of weird, and so it’s a natural adoration we have for the self-described chameleon of tease Bambi Galore of Pennsylvania. This statuesque lady straddles the performance art worlds of burlesque and drag, easily moving along the male and female spectrum. “I like to take my acts to the place of absurdity,” Bambi Galore tells Red Hots Burlesque. “To make the audience feel emotions they weren’t expecting, either through using unconventional music or pushing the boundaries of comfort. I am not a delicate flower and so I use my physicality to my advantage.” She has performed along the East Coast for the last seven years. What sets her apart as a performer? “I perform with my soul on my sleeve. When I spin fire tassels I am spinning them with my whole heart open wide. I believe my audience feels the energy that I give to them and it brings us closer to humanity.”WHAT TO SEE IN PENNSYLVANIA: “I’m a child at heart so one of my favorite tourist spots is the Turkey Hill Experience. You get to learn how ice cream is made, milk a fake cow, create your own ice cream flavor. It’s super cheesy as it is meant for kids but anywhere that has unlimited ice cream samples is a fun afternoon to me. I also love to just wander down Queen St. in Lancaster and visit all the thrift stores. These country towns are full of amazing finds.”
