WEST VIRGINIA
“Burlesque is responsible for me settling down and having a family,” Tyler Fyre of West Virginia tells Red Hots Burlesque. After his day job as a sideshow man, Fyre steps into the burlesque world as an emcee. Burlesque is where he met his wife Thrill Kill Jill on Valentine’s Day 2006 where she was talent scouting a show he was emceeing for the World Famous Pontani Sisters. Afterwards he was “talent scouting” at the bar — it was Valentine’s Day, after all — when she approached him, striking him as the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen. They married a year later. Today the two have three kids under three, and perform together in shows, him emceeing, her as a dancing girl. “Burlesque is a fun escape for us,” he says. This fire breather and sword swallower fell into burlesque moonlighting as the lighting guy after his sideshow gig, when an emcee canceled and Fyre stepped in. He’s always seen himself as the “special guest” at burlesque shows, having spent all of his adult life in sideshow, and he enjoys the opportunity to share the stage with talented performers.
